1.1 Define Core Values and Decision Filter

Steps to name values:

  1. List moments you felt most alive, calm, or proud.
  2. Circle repeated words (family, health, freedom, craft, quiet, service...).
  3. Narrow to 3-5 values. More than 5 stops being a filter.
  4. Write each value as a plain sentence: "I value ___ because ___."
  5. Turn it into a decision filter question.

Decision filter template:

When I face a choice, I ask:
"Does this move me toward [value 1] and [value 2],
 or away from them?"
If unclear, it is a no for now.
